One recent poster on another site suggest that duirng a hurricane, the best advice is:
1. Get off the water.
2. Get away from the water.
3. Get a long ways from the water.
He also said I HAVE BEEN IN HURRICANE IVAN I LIVED 5 MILES FROM THE OCEAN. IT WAS AT MY DOOR STEP 5 FT DEEP. GET OUT NOTHING WILL HELP IN A CATEGORY # 4.
PLEASE TAKE ADVICE COVER YOUR WINDOWS.
DO WHAT U HAVE TO BUT GET THE H... OUT.
IVAN WAS ONLY A #3.
KATRINA WAS ONLY A # 3
SMARTEN UP.
IF THIS IS A #4 GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK.
As I read these comments I thought some of you might be interested, as a reminder, in some pic of the last hurricane (Henrietta) to hit the San Carlos area. That storm was much smaller:

Some time ago I went through tropical storm Hillary while visiting San Carlos.
It was shocking how fast the water came up, how fast it came down and how much water ran across the desert toward the sea and how fast.
It washed out lots of roads and stranded lots of folks...for quite some time while they repaired some bridges and roads to make them passable after the storm blew itself out.
Be wise, be safe and if you there's a possibility of error...ensure the error is on the side of safety first...and don't mess with mother nature. Give her due respect and deference.
That's my 2 cents.
What are your thoughts???
