I coldn't disagree more. I have the experience to make the following comments. I rode Hurricane Hazel out in the Chesapeake Bay Hurricane Anchorage and Typhoon Mary out at sea just south of Japan. Hurricane Hazel held the record for damage numbers and wasn't beaten until Andrew came along with inflated dollars. She probably still did more actual damage than any other US hurricane. Typhoon mary still holds the record for damage to the Islands of Japan. In the anchorage we drug anchor with both anchors out and the engine making turns for 15 knots and still drug anchor for 11 miles into the bow of another ship. Faster vessel, able to make more turns and it too had 2 anchors out. Typhoon Mary, no problem, we were at sea and it was just heavy weather sailing at very little speed and a bunch of seasick sailors. I truely believe that the best place to be is as far as you can get from land. That's what causes the problems, ground around you and/or under you. You can add about a half a dozen other minor hurricanes that were all met head on at sea with no problems. By the way, Looks like Jimena isn't gonna do anything much more than about 50 knots max here in La Paz.
