I had club foot jibs on both my Venture of Newport 23 and Pearson 365 Ketch. Unless you had to back wind the jib in order to tack prior to installation of club, I don't think the jib is the problem unless the jib begins to somehow backwind during your tack. I had the club on the 365 on a track so that I could control the sheeting point, similar to what you do with a mainsail. If you are leading the sheet for the club through the normal jib sheet lead this maybe a problem. If you don't want to install a track, you can attach a 3 part tackle from the spinnaker pole down haul to a mid point on the club. Oh, spinnaker......there I go showing the complexities of my past. Tradition club jibs were always cut very flat. Is the outhaul from the jib to club foot tight enough? If not and it is hooking this might be enough to cause a back wind.
If you want photos of the two rigs I will have to go through a few boxes of photos and won't get to it until first of August.
Once you become completely sold on club foot jibs and never hank on a genoa again it is a very short step to moving on to a catboat with a very large mainsail like Gimli and the total elimnation of any kind of foresail.
Take a look a this catboat. I will be visiting her in July on my trip to Philly.

Now, imagine the fear in my wifes heart as I ponder a 33' catboat.
