Well, that's just too sad. The last time I saw the Stone was in Pirates Cove about 3 years ago and she looked great. This was after the museum had bottomed up. Several men I knew in Apalachicola with some change in their pocket hauled her and spent big bucks getting her in good shape. I guess they thought they would be able to sell her...it was after this that I think they found out Florida wouldn't let her leave. Anyway, then Santa Rosa got her for their museum which also bellied up. Future does not look bright for the Governor Stone. Such a sad end. A sailing ship should die either at sea or by fire....not tied to a dock slowly rotting. But maybe the right person will see her and bring her back to life--who knows? I hope so. She sails beautifully--handles very well....
