Substitute mast?

A Lightning mast is 18 1/2" longer than a Harpoon mast. I suppose you could cut it down to size, but why bother? IMHO, if you're buying a new one, you might as well get the real McCoy. The price should be similar, if not less, for the correct extrusion. And it can be bought with the hardware attached in the proper places, or without.

The two masts may also have different sailing characteristics.
