In Response To: Setting the mast (Don Schroder)

...I had a friend machine a 1" OD sleeve and slid the rod inside. The rod is secured inside the sleeve with set screws. Each side of the mast was drilled out to match. The sleeve extends slightly out both sides of the mast. The fit is snug! Problem solved ... forever. The fellow who did it for me might be willing to make more. I can ask if anyone's interested.
