Slipping or stretching?

Is your halyard slipping off the cleat or is the line stretching? If you take one COMPLETE turn around the base of the horn cleat before two figure eights around the forks, your line won't slip. If your halyard still seems to be lower after doing this, your line is probably stretching not slipping.

Only 1% stretch in 48 ft. of halyard is almost 6"!
