Was there ever a set of rules and specs for the 4.6 boats. Whenever I look for information I always find stuff for the 5.2's rather than the 4.6 boats (which I have). By the way Jay, I found a comment on the Harpoon site (5.2's again) to the effect that the id plate number was not necessarily consecutive in mfg and that the stenciled number on the inside of the transom was to be used for the hull # as well as the sail #. I have assumed that this goes for the 4.6's as well and have ordered and placed on my main my sail #'s (592). Thanks for the help. Also I found a paper on outfitting for a spinnaker (5.2) that I think you authored. The PO of my boat had a spinnaker but the boat has no rigging for it and I have been trying to find the items you listed. The one thing I haven't been able to find is the little hook fitting that you run the sheets under before they go aft to the turning blocks at the transom. I have not been able to find the part number you listed at APS or West Marine. It may have been discontinued as I found on some other parts, but I haven't been able to find anything that looked like it could be a substitute. Any Ideas? I also have what is a non-compliant sail. The PO again, had a 150% light weight reaching jib made for the boat by US Sail. I have recently flown it by putting the turning blocks for the spinnaker on the port and starboard transom for the sheets and it set perfect. Down wind wing on wing it works great also and I have made me a spinnaker pole to the "J" measurement of my boat (60") to hold it out there. It works far easier single handed that what I would imagine trying to single hand a spinnaker would be. I also now have a set of hiking straps compliments of a 1987 subaru that was headed to the scrap yard. Thanks to everyone for the various ideas!!
