In Response To: To thwart or not to thwart ... (Gene Bragalone - #485)

When I replaced the wood on my 5.2 I opted to eliminate the thwart. After a full season of sailing (even though it's only four months) I am very happy with that decision. Most of my sailing is casual, relaxing and single-handed therefore I don't require hiking straps and moving about on the boat is much easier.
