Putty putty ... maybe.

I had a similar experience. The old putty that was used was pretty hard and held on pretty tightly. I just rapped each side a number of times, not very hard but many times, in a couple different directions to break the bond, and it worked. I had to carefully pry one off by using a small, wide, sharp wood chisel, the other came free by itself after the rapping, but they almost have to be taken out the rest of the way simultaneously because the are tightly coupled to the centerboard.

I had to take the other 6 screw plate off as well to get the centerboard completely out, however. You may have to take that one off as well because of the centerboard thickness, at least on mine, and would not easily clear it. That other plate had a similar sticking problem.
