but at least we kept it pointy side up. Actually never got water over the rail. It did help that I had three people on board. It was one of those "how small should you feel in a small boat" races--good turnout, especially in the J22 fleet. Fortunately, they are several starts ahead and I never had to deal with more than two of them at a mark rounding . Then the boats on long-distance courses would come through periodically--once I asked my crew for a traffic report and he said "Just a catamaran going thirty miles an hour." Got caught on the wrong side of the J24s and J22s in the second race and completely lost touch with the rest of our fleet (two Sunfish and a Laser--kind of hard to see in that crowd anyway, especially when the Laser had its sail in the water). Reefed as soon as we finished racing, and took the jib down. It was about 15-20 with some higher gusts.
