A standard Harpoon mast has no internal halyards. I'd be willing to bet that any mast with such halyards is not the original.

But it makes no difference. There is no need to put the topping lift inside. All you need is an eyestrap riveted to the front face of the mast at the appropriate height and a swivel block shackled to that!
