The numbers 100" and 103" for 7A0812 hulls and after, and 92 1/2" and 85 3/4" for 7A0811 and below refer to the positions for the TWO pieces of hardware that need to be mounted on each gunwale: one guy hook and one turning block/cleat. It is NOT the range of acceptable places for mounting a swivel cam base nor the exact location of the wood underneath.
These positions apparently reflect the designer's opinion as to the optimal placement of the hardware for proper spinnaker use. Of course, not everyone would agree or needs to. The measurements do work very well for me and, yes, there was wood at those places!
IMHO, a swivel cam base and cleat like those used for the jib sheets is not the best choice for the spinnaker for two reasons: 1) the lines come forward from the blocks at the transom and go around the bullseye at a very severe angle, especially if the trimmer is trimming the line from the proper position in the boat which is slightly aft of midship. This creates much more friction than a block does. This is usually undesireable. Bullseyes are primarily meant to guide lines into proper angles in the same direction rather than for turning lines in different directions. 2) It must be very uncomfortable for the crew to sit on one of these while hiking on the rail!
I suggest low profile cheek blocks and cam cleats mounted very close thereafter.
