- Bring friends. One would be nice, two would be better(and three wouldn't hurt. Uncoiling and keeping it in place takes some doing. Taping it down as suggested isn't all its cracked up to be.) - Have a heat gun or turbo hair dryer for the bow point (REQUIRED) - Mark the position of the previous repaired holes on top of the gunnel. Once the rail goes on it is hard to know where to drill the new holes for the rivets. You could use a hunk of tape for example. I used a dry erase marker. I had just painted the topside with Interlux Brightside and it rubbed right off. It may work with Gelcoat, but test first.
Prep - I filled the old holes with bondo fiberglass. Sets in minutes and sands in less than an hour.
