Your boat would eventually come up - with a beautifully inflated PFD aloft... unless you remove it while still down... sounds like just one more thing to worry about. The key to a smooth recovery from a capsize is a combination of preparation, speedy response, trained (prepared) crew, rescue rope (see web page). I strongly recommend intentionally capsizing your boat and testing your skills. If you have to recover from a capsize for the first time under stressful conditions in heavy air and crew in panic, you are writing your ticket to an extended drink.
