Great pictures! You'll be very proud when you have your before and after's.
The good news first: a. you're set up for a spinnaker. What you "anchored" to is part of the spinnaker sheet/guy system (guyline hook) with the turning block ahead of it. b. you can sail perfectly well without the spinnaker c. Your thwart isn't all that bad - it can be refinished d. you got a compass!
The bad news: a. if the hook pulled out, the odds are that the wood beneath is rotten. Do a search in the forum for "bailer repair" where folks talk about renewing the wood. With a little luck, you may be able to use epoxy to fill the rotten wood spaces (GitRot is one product for this) before remounting the hardware. If the wood beneath the hook is rotten, you'll need to work on the wood under the turning block, too (since it is the same piece)
If you save the thwart, I'd go back with mahogany to match it. I'm in the middle of varnishing my replacement seats now - the wood cost $80 for enough to do the seats and centerboard top plus another $40 for a local furniture builder to join and plane the wood to thickness. Still have the mahogany ply for the verticals to go.
Good luck -
