My regular crew, Michael Connolly and I are going to race in the Buccaneer Nationals in Missisauga, ON in July. He was invited to take charge of the Nickels Boat Works entry for the Regatta as they are going to be occupied sailing at the Lightning Worlds in Greece. Nickels is one of the official boat builder for these classes and others as well. So we get to sail a brand new boat and our registration is paid, too! Michael really had to twist my arm to get me to go!
The regatta comprises 4 days of racing (maybe 12-15 short races) on Lake Ontario in what are supposedly very windy conditions. Missisauga is just outside Toronto, so it should be fun to be there as well.
I'll post and let let you know how it goes.
In the meantime, has anyone ever sailed one of these things before? Apparently, its an 18-footer but only 6 ft wide. Supposedly alot tippier than a Harpoon.
