Hi Paul, My Harpoon came with the cuddy unattached and a wood strip along the sides of the bow seats where it went. I just left it off because I could never think of a good reason to put it back on. The only thing it would add would be covered storage. But I wouldn't want to lose access to the bow for setting the chute, docking, or whatever. Is there a reason you want to put it back on?
If I'd wanted to put mine back on, I've always assumed that I'd have to remove the screws (or rivets) holding the wood strip in place, put the cuddy on, put the wood strip back in place from inside the cuddy, and reinstall the screws or rivets. I'm not sure, but I think the wood strip was standard equipment.
