Jay, I have been around that area though never sailing. It is very beautiful in that part of Lake Erie and the plan sounds perfect to me. However, I know nothing about the camping situation. Bird Watching is great as well. Be sure to bring binoculars.
Waters are relatively shallow and Lake Erie can get nasty quickly. So be sure to have weather radio etc. Go for it and we all are looking for an in-depth sailing report.
