Some 5.2's were made with cuddies. Some were made without cuddies. None were made with "removeable" cuddies, i.e., the cuddies were not meant to be able to be moved on or off easily.
Mine has no cuddy and never did. I like the extra space forward for spinnaker launching and many other reasons. If I need to keep things dry, I put them in dry bags. To me the cuddy is not worth it and doesn't fit my needs. Others like it.
You need to figure out what purpose you're going to use the boat.
Racing, daysailing: no cuddy Camping, cruising, hideout for kids: cuddy
