Harpoon 4.6 transom hardware

And thus the questions commence!

My new 4.6 does not have any transom hardware except the after market motor bracket (more on that later.) I'm considering keeping her in a slip. I suppose I could tie mooring lines to the motor bracket, but I'm not comfortable with that.

I've called Whaler up, and I should be able to buy the external d-rings, threaded inserts, and oval rings inside the boat at a dealer. (I shudder at the cost. Will have to start calling.)

I should be able to figure out placement from the promo photos. I'm guessing one d-ring length below top edge of transom, and on the 5.2 diagrams, they appear to be 1/4 the transom width in from each side. The photos for the 4.6 appear to be slightly wider than that.

Anyone with a 4.6 have some more accurate measurements for me?

Any gotchas I should worry about before I start drilling? If I find foam, I'm going to blast out foam with the bent nail trick, and fill with glass stranded Bondo. If I find plywood, I might smear some epoxy around in the hole twice before fitting the hardware.

Thanks, Brian
