i have an old venture 21 swing keel sailboat on a trailer with carpet covered, 2 x 6 pt bunks. i read an article in sail mag describing how to use plastic downspout gutter pipe over 2 x 4 bunk boards and i'm wondering has anyone done this, how did it work out. the article was describing a full keel boat where most of the weight is on the foot of the keel. do you guys think i need the 2 x 6's or can i get away with 2 x 4's to support the hull? the boards are 9' long
