mast for mac 21

hello all,
i just bought a mcgregor 21 which the previous owner had dismasted on a bridege, it snapped the mast in two at the spreaders, the boat and rigging suffered no damage,. I am looking for a used mast anyone have any ideas where to find one, i am in northern california near sacramento. i have tried all the boat yards from here to the san fran bay area without any luck, i've looked on craigslist and ebay without luck. the mast is 24' by 3 7/8 x 2 5/16 approx. can i go to a longer mast with similar dimensions, by the way the channel for the sail feed is 3/16. what would happen if i went to a 26 or even a 28 or smaller like a 23 or 22? I know I'd have to change the rigging but is there any problems going taller, i plan to use this boat for day sailing on a lake or on very nice days in the sea of cortez in baja. thanks steve
