keel damage HELP

I just got a 1968 21' macgregor and there is a prety big crack on the keel length ways and im wondering how i should go about fixing it? can i remove it while on trailor? is it removeable? should i pay to have it put up on a stand and lower the keel and repair in place? the crack is about 3/8 wide and most of the length about 4 ft it looks to be just fiber glass that is cracked. OR SHOULD I JOUS FORGET ABOUT IT.
