Yes that's where the first one was when we got the boat along with the messy wiring. I straightened out the wiring but did'nt feel like relocating it. So the 2nd battery was placed there as well and the charger. I know our motor is around 11olbs of hernia waiting to happen. It came with shifter bolted to gas tank cover at the end of the cockpit that and bar from tiller to motor makes steering breeze. The little 5w panel has always kept the house battery supplied, even all winter as a matter of fact.
