Pete, its not hard, but could make one nervous. I like the idea of lanching the boat and having it in the water. That said the following is how I removed a 22 Mac to work on the trailer. First I lowered thw trailer in the front as low as I could get it. Next I built a sopport under the raised rear of the boat, then cranked up the front and blocked it up with horizonal supports blocked up against the bow. Then I manovered the trailer out, worked on it and worried about the boat falling until I got the trailer back under.
On my 26 when repairs were needed on the centerboard my wife convinced me to take it to tha marina and pay them to lift it up with their crane. Looking back, money well spent.
