Chris, I came down mid-January, Sherry flew down for a 2 week Keys cruise in the heatwave we had down here. The water was 80*F ! and visibility 40 ft. We had a great time, just put some new LED lights on the trailer today for the drive home, salt water ate the old ones. It has been wonderful but now I have to wait for some good weather to drive back home. I need to be home by the 20th, so I still have a bit of time down here. I have a new Somerset main sail so not sure how my experience would apply to another sail lofts cut. I find with the bimini the way it is now it is not too bad for an old guy like me to slip under the back of it to use the BBQ or ladder. If it was much lower I would find it a grunt, and might want it a bit shorter, so I could move it forward. The extra tubes on the bimini mount work well but do add extra time when setting the boat up in a trailering situation.
