I got a 4' x 76" wide and 36" tall bimini, for a 26D. I mounted it outboard of the coamings, front straps to the lifeline, rear to some lines on the cleats, and I have angled rod holders it lays down on...
I also have a tiller extension and can sit at the rear and read my windex.
The boom does rub a bit when close hauled, mostly on the front bow. at the mainsheet. over time it would wear.. 32-34" tall would be perfect, but I don't miss the extra length...
The only way I would put in a window is with eisen glass, and a sunbrella cover.
Besides, if you're racing that bimini should be down... right?
OT: -Hey Bob, how do you like the city marina in Steward?
