thats a great idea! (adding zippers now!).
I would not do the rods, but thats just me... I want the bimini to flex under load.
36" tall may be tight, (thats what I have), mouted outboard of the coaming... 76" wide is fine. (better to squeeze the legs inward than outward)
-I often take oversize beach towels, and closepin them to the sides of the bimini, and there rear of the bimini, for privacy and/or sun protection.
I've also taken blue tarps and bridged the gap between the pop top and the bimini. (seldom). (you'll have to duck to get in cabin)
What I really need is a way to block the wind, when taking showers in the cockpit... (when its cold..er) (any ideas on a doger?)
-I doubt you would use any bimini sides when sailing... but great for camping. (maybe eissen glass sides? if its really cold...)
