I keep the straps loose front/back so it flexes and isn't a big problem, but 32-34" height, would be fine. imho... (or get the sliding gooseneck and add a shelve on the chicken head)... yet, another slippery slope.. :/ height is not a problem sitting, and transition to standing is at front of pit. I also went wider too at 76" and mounted fixed on outside of a 1988 D coaming
