(link) (pic) (Chris & Lenore - Mac 26S - Teliki) I mounted the bimini on the top of the (lower) coaming, (fixed pivoit point), that the 87-88 D's have (89-04 had high-er coamings.) yes if you mount just above the rub rail, that should lower total height about 5-6" (guess). so 36" sounds right in that case.
