bridging the cockpit

Hi there,

I'm going to cut some plywood this weekend, in order to make one very large bed for the cockpit.

I'm thinking of cutting the board to fit inside flush with the seats, and into 13" widths, (I think thats the storage width), for storage under the aft berth.

the idea is to sleep in the cockpit.

has anyone done this?

suggestions or photos would be appreciated.

(the board in this pic, not flush... I'm also wondering if the flush board will stay put without a ledge to rest on)
