I got a 26S too...after years of "torture" (PO) the inboard ends of my spreaders got bent/wrecked too. I took them off, reshaped the damaged ends, drilled new holes and flipped them end for end till I could source new ones...that was 3-4 years ago IIRC If I trailer a long distance I secure the ends of the spreaders to the lifelines using a couple of wraps of electrical tape.
