Roundup problems w/ Idasailor rudder

OK, I am not trying to stir up debate on why the 26D has weatherhelm. I already searched all the old chains.
My question is, doe anyone with the Idasailor rudder still have roundup or weatherhelm problems? I still had issues at BEER even with the Idasailor rudder and almost cut off Scott in one severe event. It is possible my rudder downhaul had a bit of slack to kick the rudder back an inch or two but I would expect this would effect only the weatherhelp and not cause the rudder stall.
Also, has anyone seen the need for the Idasailor stiffening plate after having the Idasailor rudder? I was hoping that with the better balance I would never need to put that much torsion into the flexy castle to have an issue.
