1. Rudder not fully deployed. 2. Excessive mast rake. 3. Poor sail trim. 4. Overcanvassed.
Properly trimmed and canvassed, SeaQuell will round-up if I try to pusd her beyond a 45 degree heel, with the stock rudder.
If one leaves the mainsail all bagged out, the ruddger back an inch or two, the mast raked aft 10", and takes a 30 knot gust abeam, she's gonna round up; doesn't matter if you have a barn door for a rudder.
