Aluminum and stamped "not for climbing" and "safe working load 150 lbs", and from the old Home Depot. I appreciate the catch (good eye, Doug!) and will look for something a little more substantial. But a question: I wonder how many lbs force those little eyes on the deck are good for anyway ?? I don't even know if they were originally meant for the baby stays. Always very careful (and slow) when raising the mast, Nelson Amen
