My one dollar Mac is almost finished and it looks GREAT! I still have to paint the bottom and keel but all bright work has been done or replaced in and out, new wireing throughout, new port glass, new carpet on the interior walls, painted the complete inside, also replace the keel winch and bolt, cable was in good shape and is actually larger than came with the replacement winch. Also checked out the 9.9 Long Shaft Johnson (1975)and it was in great shape. Replaced the fuel line and cleaned the carb, replaced the water pump and changed the grease in the lower unit. It runs like a champ. It has electric start. QUESTION: I read in one of the messages some time ago about a "Keel Lock Bolt" and there was a diagram but I can't find it. Does the keel have to be locked down when underway? Can someone send me the diagram? As you might have guessed I am not yet a salior but hope to be soon. Still have to get help with rigging. I have not had the mast on the boat as yet but as soon as I can get a friend who sails over I will try to rig it and put up the sails. Will try to post pictures when completed.
Thanks, Bill
