bracket under pop top

I've post here a couple other times and I have another question. There 4 L shaped brackets under the 4 arms on the pop top and I don't know for sure what their for. I think their to hold down the top but not sure ,if so I guess I 'llneed sum "J" bolts. Hope fully I'll be able to launch it soon,been working on it since I got it in april. Thanks Jim
