I used a piece of 5"x5" by 1/2" baltic birch plywood on the bottom of the hatch cover, held in place with epoxy & glass. I made a mount for the bottom of the tiller with piece of bronze rod I heated and bent. My TP is a Raymarine ST1000 but geometry is probably very similar. I have have not had any problem with the hatch lid moving at all, seems very solid. They say to mount it away from the outboard motor because of possible electrical interference, but others have mounted theirs over the motor well without a problem. I installed the power jack under the white starboard shelf so that the back electrical connections are easy to reach inside the lazarette. When I want to steer by hand I just lift it up and it sits on the hatch cover until I hook it back on the tiller again. It seems like a logical place to mount it to me. good luck, Bob
