He had also used various types of "'boat" paint.
He advised against the floor paint - while it seemed "hard"' it was not even close to proper yacht paint i.e. it scuffed fairly easily by comparison, didn't take the extreme expansion/contraction rates of fibreglass and was difficult to remove.
His advice for reasonable cost was Brightsides Yacht Paint which I think is a CIL product. Covers in a couple coats, is one part product and a fraction of the cost/effort of Awlgrip.
He used the "roll and tip" method of application - role a square foot (do not use foam rollers) and immediately go over it LIGHTLY with the softest brush you can afford. Supposedly it makes the paint "flow" into a uniform coat. I have never tried it but his boat looked like a spray job.
