Sell your boat for just $1

Definitely structural

Report: outside forum guidelines

the heavy seat back bolts to the seat bottom and the centerboard trunk, connects to the liner at the join line between the top and hull joint, and supports the roof. The primary purpose is to give sideways suport to the centerboard. Your boat should have impressively large bolts holding the wood to the seat and centerboard trunk, and some large stainless steel angles. The side forces are large when beating to windward, and flexing must be controlled.

The Mac 22 is much the same in this feature.
