I'd like to clarify a few things....

Report: outside forum guidelines

First I'm not mad at anyone and realize that those who commented in regards to my trailer bunks were expressing concerns they had.

I am and was extremely (probably not warranted) discourage with the direction the thread took along the lines of getting the gel coat scratched and how thick my skin was, which after a couple of not so nice marriages and being in business for myself for over 30 years and being 65 is probably thicker than most.

I wanted and should of stated that I was interested in if this mod was going to help load the boat and get it to settle on the trailer in less than desirable conditions as I had heard so many horror stories regarding that. It wasn't until Bill, Bob and Jim came along that this was discussed and by then I'd blown my top and given up.

Concerning the tops of the goal posts/PVC pipes and the gel coat Mike and Chris made their concerns know on the first 2 posts. Then on the 3rd post I said "I'm ...going to add marker lights to the top of the goal posts and they will be in some short sections of PVC pipe with steel supports inside and that hopefully will take care of the problem you have mentioned."

I still feel that when I'm done with that part of the work that I'll have the marker lights I feel are necessary on a trailer this long and the goal posts will be extended in height and "protected". Even though that post seemed to have been read by a number of people either the wording wasn't clear or something as the discussion still seemed to center around the tops of the goal posts as they appeared at that point in the build and never until later got on to the point of if the general configuration that I had built (I'll give Bob the design credit as he put the idea in my head) was any good or not.

Not to drive this into the ground, but back on 3-30 I asked the specific question related to how high the goal posts needed to be and only Bob gave an answer. Well Rob also commented on my "A gelcoat peeler?". He had a wink at the end, so I took that to mean it was tongue in cheek. There were a few other posts about the new head and pushpit that I probably took a little too personal. I hadn't seen similar type comments directed at other people's ideas/mods. All of this together finally got under my "maybe not so thick skin" and resulted in my post the other day. Maybe warranted or maybe not.

As I posted the other day I'm still documenting what I do on my site as I've done with a lot of my projects over the years, so it is there for anyone to see and either comment on here or through an e-mail to me. Probably best for me to back off on posting what I've been up to on these forums as it might be, maybe has been, taken in the wrong way. I'll continue to use this resource to learn more and want to thank everyone again that has answered my questions in the past.

c ya,

Sum
