I'm a bit envious really. My father had a machne shop, I grew up in it (made lots of shavings) and many times I just WISHED it still existed. Well now I'm like most of the rest of us - get a good idea, look for spare stuff in the shed, cinch it in the vice, drill, hammer, file and swage to fit. Then hope it works on the water. Sometimes it even does.
