Mike cant answer your question.. but feel your pain. I didnt think of it until your post but yesterday I took the boat out for a little spin - motor only trying out a GPS speed meter and didnt drop the centerboard. When I came back in to the slip, I was using the outboard and rudder to steer and the wind had picked up a little and was blowing in the worst possible direction. I had a real hard time (singlehanded), took a quarter sized chunk of gel coat from the bow hitting some metal on the dock..
Things seemed a lot more difficult than normal and it didnt occur to me until your post that I had the centerboard up all the way up.
