I have a "goal post" question... (link) (pic) (Chris & Lenore - Mac 26S - Teliki) I bought these from WM. The PVC is 5ft long. Originally I installed them at the rear of the trailer, but when I backed down the ramp where I needed to be, the goal posts were lower than the rub rail. Even though there is a cap on top, it still peeled the stripe a little. So I moved them forward to just behind the fenders. I also added another 10 inches, at the bottom, you can see the coupler in the pic. So now they are 5'10" long. They stay well above the rub rail. I figure the only part of the boat I want to touch anything is the rub rail. Worked good last weekend, during windy conditions, putting it back on the trailer.
