I propose that all trailer sailers modify ther goalposts such that they may be adjusted for height. By making paper cutouts of the trailer and towing vehicle and sliding them along on a piece of graph paper on which is drawn a series of launch ramps with various ramp angles the optimum height of the goal posts may be determined for a variety of ramp angles. ie a parametric study of goalpost height vs launch ramp angle.
Additionally a rudamentery protractor should be fabricated from a board with a solid pendulum with angles marked. Then when approaching an unknown ramp the prospective sailer can serupticiously drive partly down the ramp, lean out the door, momentarily place the protractor on the ramp and read the angle. Probly should have the numbers upside down so they can be read while leaning out of the vehicle. Optimumly there would be no observers.
Now then, while riggng up, the goal posts can be set for the current ramp angle and the requisit exposure.
(or maybe just attach floats to the PVC?)
