...I'll either coat it with a spray can clear or this other product that I got to use on the aluminum parts for my race car on the salt called Protect A Clear (an Everbrite Coating)....

I'm interested in seeing how this product works anyway as I have some bare aluminum water and fuel tanks on the race car. It is suppose to be extremely salt resistant and recommended for aluminum on boats. Anyone have experience with it? I'll let you know how I like it, but the real test would be an ocean environment which is a ways down the road for us.

Eventually when or if I have the time I would like to redo it in stainless. I just ordered some stainless rod and I'm going to see how I do welding it with the TIG.
