In Response To: Equalize batteries on a "small" sailboat (pic) (walt26scolorado)

Good ideas, Il keep looking for something similar.

John, the family has a little off grid cabin - doesnt get used much any more so there are 160 watts of panels currently not dumping power into about 300 amp hours of batteries because they are extrememly full. The charge controller is an MPPT type and it has an equilize mode but that doesnt do me any good with the boat. The cabin batteries are probably shot now from neglect and not being used. At this off grid cabin, we used to spend a lot of time at it and the kids are not supposed to wiz off the deck. One morning about five years ago, I was out taking pictures and the younger son (also named John) came out to sneak in a wiz (back then, they were masters at getting a lot of "distance"). http://analogengineering.com/elevenmile/john_wiz.jpg
