I usually use the outboard to turn when I am in tight area, the rudder when in open waters. By using the motor I can manuever better in the marina. Wife would like an electric start in case of an emergency, the Yamaha 8hp looks good but I'm not sure about the clearance issue for that on. Hate to spend the money at the moment.
