I keep my gin pole and all it's tackle fastened to the stantions when not in use. Works fine, doesn't get in the way. I don't have to put it in the tow vehicle or stow it below. I use pulpit anchors to attach it at both ends. Here's what it looks like stowed on the stantions. Here you can see the angle of the gin pole & tackle connected to the bow cleat while raising. Here you can see how slack they are when the mast is up. I just leave them connected like that. Hope this helps!
